Istanbul: the reopening of the iconic flagship store

The United Colors of Benetton has recently reopened its flagship store in Istanbul, situated in one of the most iconic and recognizable buildings on Bagdat Street, the busiest shopping street of the Turkish economic capital.
 
Designed in 2009 by architect Piero Lissoni, the store is presented to the public today with a new look, which boasts the intervention of architect Tobia Scarpa.
 
The store has been updated following in the steps of the new Light Colors, a concept conceived by Benetton’s Retail Design with the collaboration of architect Scarpa, who has designed the original lighting concept explains, “The articulated lighting with its three elements – disco, Nón-Lá and Barra Luminosa -creates a quality of light in which the colors of the objects displayed express their happiness. The originality of this project comes from the use of a diffused, direct and indirect lighting source, and the diffusion of linear light used in an innovative way in retail.”
 
Cozy atmosphere, natural textures, Italian style: these characteristics of the new format, designed to meet the needs and expectations of customers all over the world. The flexible furnishing system allows the product to be the real standout.
 
The star had been Opening Soon…, a futuristic project that aimed to outline the vision of the United Colors of Benetton sales space. Now that the future has arrived, the space continues to transform. Three floors of the building are dedicated to sales, while the other four will be used as showrooms as well as the headquarters of Benetton Turkey.
